Mechanisms of Zonal Momentum Transport at 0N, 140W in an Ocean State Estimate

This paper is in review. We use a data-assimilating regional ocean model to diagnose the zonal momentum budget in the Pacific Cold Tongue and to evaluate the representation of vertical mixing by a subgrid-scale paramterization.

A Landmark-Aided Navigation Approach with Side-Scan Sonar

This paper describes a novel Bayesian estimation method for using landmarks to navigate with side-scan sonar. The algorithm uses an unscented Kalman filter, a particle filter, and probabilistic data association. It is tested in simulation and in the field.
